Kacey Louisa Barnfield

was born and raised in North London, England. At a very early age Kacey expressed her desire to act, she eventually persuaded her mother to send her to acting classes, then later joined a children’s agency and landed her first professional job on British TV aged nine.

 

From the year 2000 and throughout her early teens Kacey was recognisable by the youth of England as ‘Maddie Gilkes’ in the hit children’s school drama ‘Grange Hill’. Her character was a focal point of several central story lines, and Kacey says her five year stint on the show was where she learned her craft, ‘Growing up in front of the camera meant that it just became a second nature’.

Kacey went on to do the rounds on British TV dramas, appearing in ‘The Bill’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Dream Team’. In 2007, she landed the role of Mike Reid’s runaway daughter ‘Zoe Stringer’ in adult drama ‘Filthy Rich’, shortly before he passed away. 2008 saw Kacey move from television to the big screen for the first time in British teen comedy ‘Popcorn’, she won the part of character ‘Yukino’, who was based on a Japanese superhero cartoon character.

 

In 2010 Kacey appeared in her first Hollywood feature film, Paul Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife as ‘Crystal Waters’, opposite Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller.

She has recently filmed the lead of Kate in award-winning director Johannes Roberts horror movie ‘Roadkill’, opposite Stephen Rae. As Annabel in Stephen R Monroes ‘A Warriors Tale’, and as ‘Barb’ in Jeremy Leven’s romantic comedy ‘Girl on a bicycle’, opposite Paddy Considine.

All are set for release in 2011.

Currently, in the UK, she is widely recognised for her role of Katie Sutherland (Neil’s sister),
in the hugely popular award winning comedy TV show ‘The Inbetweeners’.
